Reading Between Reviews: Attack on Titan, Season 2

Season 2 of Attack on Titan had a lot to live up to.

The series erupted onto the anime scene in a huge way, becoming an instant classic in the world of shounen anime.  This instant popularity only made it more notorious, when years began to pass without any confirmed sequel date.  So when this season was  announced, many people, myself included, were hyped as all hell.

And now that’s it out, we all have different opinions.  Some people lauded it as amazing, while others provided criticism for its poor storytelling. But me?

Attack on Titan Analysis: Eren Jaeger’s Underappreciated Character Development

Eren Jaeger’s received some flak for his depiction in the Attack on Titan anime, for being a simplistic, basic character.  An angry, mindless protagonist who was depicted far better in the manga.

Well.  Frankly speaking, that’s not true.  Especially considering the release of Season Two, Eren’s actually been portrayed just fine in the anime, and I’d like to explain why.

Reading Between Reviews: Attack on Titan Season 1!

Dude.  Attack on Titan, Season 2, drops in four days.  WHAT THE HECK.

That in mind, I’d like to take a look back at the season that kicked the series off, as one of the most popular mainstream anime in recent memory.  A thrill ride from start to finish, the hype for Attack on Titan was quite honestly unprecedented.  I haven’t been able to talk to so many people about an anime in my life, and EVERYONE had a positive thing to say about it.  So, honestly though, how good was season one?
